Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups self-rising flourButtermilk Biscuts Cutting - 1
  • 1Tbs Sugar
  • 1Tbs Baking Powder
  • 2 Cups Buttermilk
  • 2/3 Cup Shortening

Directions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.  Mix all ingredients together, but DO NOT knead.  Roll out to 1” thickness.  Cut out biscuits and brush tops Buttermilk  Biscuits - 1with additional buttermilk.  Place on cookie sheet (if not using a non-stick sheet make sure you grease the sheet).  Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. If you do not have a biscuit cutter you can use a drinking glass.  Grease the mouth of the glass before cutting biscuits.  We use Ateco Plain Round Cutters Click Here
