Buttermilk Waffles


  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cup buttermilk
  • 6 tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 eggs, beaten lightly
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


  1. Pre-heat waffle iron.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; stir in buttermilk, vanilla extract, eggs, and butter. 
  3. Stir until completely mixed (batter will be thick). 
  4. Pour ½ cup batter onto the middle of you waffle maker. 
  5. Close lid and cook 6 – 7 minutes or until golden brown.  (if your using a large waffle iron you will need to use more batter)
