Chicken Pakistoni

Our friend Larry Kline lent us the cook book “Talk About Good” with recipes contributed by members of the Lafayette junior league their relatives and friends.  Larry suggested we try some of the books recipes, which we did, and were we glad we did.  Unfortunately we did not get a picture of the dish. If you try this recipe and would be kind enough to take a photo, please let us know, otherwise we will be sure to take a pic next time we prepare it.

Chicken Pakistoni

  • Broiler/fryer, cut into serving pieces
  • 1/4 cup soft butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed chili pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped almonds
  • 2 cardamom pods, crushed
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 3/4 cup sour cream or yogurt
  • Juice and zest of one lemon


  1. Put chicken pieces into oiled baking dish
  2. Mix other ingredients together and spread on chicken
  3. Bake in 400 degree F. oven one hour, turning and basting every 20 minutes
