Cream Cheese Frosting

  •         ¼ cup butter softened
  •         1 – 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
  •         1 teaspn vanilla extract
  •         1 – 16 ounce package powdered sugar, sifted
  •         ½ cup chopped pecans (optional)

Cream butter and cream cheese at medium speed of an electric mixer.  Add vanilla; beat well.  Gradually add sugar, beating until mixture is smooth and well blended.  Stir in chopped pecans. 

Yield: enough for one 13” x 9” x 2” cake
