Easy Berry Trifle

Ingredients Easy Berry Trifle

  • 1 ½ cups fresh raspberries, divided
  • 1 ½ cups fresh blueberries, divided
  • 1 ½ cups fresh blackberries, divided
  • 1 ½ fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 5 tablespoons superfine sugar – 2 tablespoons saved for whipped cream
  • 1 teaspoon orange-flavored liqueur
  • 1 (3.4 ounce) package vanilla instant pudding and pie filling
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 Angel Food loaf
  • 2 tablespoons orange-flavored liqueur, divided
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream


  1. Combine 1 cup each raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and strawberries.  Lightly crush berries; toss with 3 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon orange-flavored liqueur.
  2. Prepare pudding mix with milk and almond extract according to package directions.  Divide angel food loaf into 3 equal sections; tear into 2-inch pieces.
  3. Spoon remaining berries over top of trifle.
  4. Arrange 1/3 cake pieces on bottom of 2 ½ quart glass bowl, sprinkle with 2 teaspoons orange-flavored liqueur.  Spoon 1/3 berry mixture over cake; cover with 1/3 pudding.  Repeat layers twice.
  5. Refrigerate, covered, several hours.
  6. . Just before serving, combine the heavy cream and the remaining 2 Tablespoons of sugar in a mixing bowl. With an electric mixer, whip the cream until it’s thickened and spoonable. Spread the cream over the top layer of the trifle and serve.
