Fried Ravioli

IngredientsRavioli Fried

  • ½ cup panko bread crumbs
  • ½ cup Italian bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 10 – 14 of your favorite store bought ravioli fresh – not frozen
  • 2 eggs
  • ⅓ Cup milk
  • Oil for frying
  • Your favorite marinara sauce for dipping

Directions

  1. Bring ravioli and eggs to room temperature
  2. Blend bread crumbs, Italian seasoning and salt in a bowl
  3. In a separate bowl combine eggs and milk blending completely
  4. Dip raviolis in the egg mixture then move to the bread crumb mixture.  Repeat these steps a second time so they are double dipped.
  5. Let the raviolis set on a rack while oil is coming to temperature
  6. Whether deep frying or pan frying heat oil to a temperature between 350⁰ – 375⁰
  7. The raviolis take about 3 minutes to cook.  If pan frying flip them over about halfway through to make sure they are cooking evenly.  (They will puff up slightly just as they would if you boiled them)
  8. Once they are a golden brown remove them from the oil and place on paper towels to drain.
  9. Allow to cool to warm or room temperature
  10. Serve with your favorite warm marinara as a dipping sauce
