Ingredients026

  • 1 loaf of French bread
  • 8 tablespoons butter (1 stick)
  • 1 large ripe tomato, slice into 1/4 inch slices
  • Salt
  • 3 tablespoons garlic, finely chopped
  • 20 slices pepperoni
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese

Directions

  1. Cover a cookie sheet with aluminum foil
  2. Cut two 8 inch pieces of French bread, then cut each piece of bread in half-length wise.
  3. Generously butter each piece of bread
  4. Generously spread garlic over buttered bread We used Trader Joe’s Crushed Garlic Click Here
  5. Place buttered bread on cookie sheet
  6. Place bread into broiler and toast.  Be careful not to burn bread
  7. Remove toasted bread from broiler.  Pre-heat oven to 350⁰ F.
  8. Cover each piece of toasted bread with sliced pepperoni
  9. Cover pepperoni with slices of tomato
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Generously cover each piece with shredded mozzarella cheese
  12. Place in 350⁰ F. oven and bake for approximately 6 minutes or until cheese starts to melt.
  13. Remove from oven and return to broiler for about 2 – 3 minutes or until cheese is completely melted and starts to bubble and begins to brown up.
  14. Remove from broiler and serve immediately.
