IngredientsLIZZIES (FRUITCAKE COOKIES)

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 3 tsp baking soda
  • 3 tbsp. milk
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup bourbon whiskey
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • 1 test cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 lb. seedless raisins (about 3 cups)
  • 1 1/2 lb. pecans (6 cups)
  • 1 lb. candied pineapple
  • 1/2 lb. candied cherries (both red and green) halved
  • 1/4 lb. dates

Directions

  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add well-beaten eggs.
  3. Add flour and baking soda that have been whisked together.
  4. Add milk and one-half of the whiskey.
  5. Add spices and remainder of whiskey.
  6. Add fruit and nuts which have been cut up in small pieces.
  7. Drop by teaspoonful’s onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
  8. Bake 20 to 30 minutes in 270⁰ F. oven.
  9. Cool 10 minutes then move to a wire cooling rack to cool completely. We use Surpahs 3 Tier Stainless Steel Cooling Racks Click Here
