IngredientsPotato Flake Crusted Baked Trout

  • 2 pounds Trout fillets
  • 1 large egg
  • Water
  • 1 pack Idahoan Potato flakes
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour


  1. Preheat oven 350 degrees.
  2. Place a cooling type rack onto a baking sheet. Allow rack and baking sheet to preheat. (Bake your fish on this rack so that heat can get to both sides.)
  3. Using a paper towel pat the fish dry
  4. Beat the egg with one tablespoon of water.
  5. Using three shallow bowls, create a breading station
  6. fill first bowl with all-purpose flour
  7. Second bowl with beaten egg
  8. Third bowl with potato flakes
  9. Dredge fish in the all-purpose flour, then into egg mixture and finally press each side of the fish into the potato flakes.
  10. Place crusted fish onto the rack that has been heating in the oven.
  11. Bake 20 to 40 minutes until done (fish should flake easily and be opaque).
