Rice Pilaf

IngredientsRice Pilaf

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • One small onion, chopped (1/4 cup)
  • 1 cup uncooked regular long – grain rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


  1. Melt butter in 3 quart saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Cook onion in butter about three minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender
  3. Stir in rice. Cook 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in broth and salt.
  4. Heat to boiling, stirring once or twice; reduce heat to low.
  5. Cover and simmer 16 minutes (do not lift cover or stir); remove from heat.
  6. Let stand covered 5 minutes.
