  • Rattlesnake
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Garlic salt
  • Accent food seasoning
  • ½ to ¾ cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups Crisco vegetable shortening

Direction

  1. Skin rattlesnake, clean and wash meat.  Cut in 4 inch lengths.
  2. In a medium sized bowl beat egg and milk making sure well blended.
  3. In a separate bowl mix salt, pepper, garlic salt, accent seasoning and flour making sure all ingredients are well blended.
  4. In a pot add Crisco shortening heating to 350⁰, use a deep fry thermometer to insure temp level.
  5. Dredge snake meat into egg mixture then through flour mixture.
  6. Using a deep fry basket drop dredged meat into hot vegetable shortening and cook until golden brown.
