Alligator Spicy Meat Balls

Alligator Spicy Meat Balls


  • 1 lb. cooked flaked alligator meat
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt
  • ½ tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon red hot sauce
  • 1 cup unseasoned breadcrumbs
  • 2 cups cornmeal
  • 3 cups peanut oil


  1. In a large bowl mix flaked alligator meat, diced bell pepper, diced onion, Cajun seasoning, salt, pepper, garlic, egg, hot sauce and breadcrumbs.  Use your hand to make sure mixture is completely blended.
  2. Take a heaping tablespoon of meatball mixture and shape into meatballs making sure the meatballs are a consistent size.
  3. Pour peanut oil into a pot and using a deep fry thermometer heat oil to 350⁰
  4. Spread cornmeal onto a plate and roll meatballs in cornmeal until coated
  5. Using a deep fry basket fry meatballs until golden brown
  6. Drain on paper towels
